Decked Builder - Mobile Apps for MTG

Good afternoon/evening/morning to you all. I'm here to just briefly introduce myself and to tell you what I do for Decked Builder.

Well my name is Corbin, I am a 23 year old graphic artist who has always been interested in pursuing the "app world." I grew up studying fine art and 3D modeling. While they were fun and amazing starting points for me, I quickly got interested in the graphic design side of things. Soo that was what I was doing in and out of school. So from then on it was all about Photoshop and Illustrator haha.

Over the past year and a half I have studied iOS and the SDK as much as I could on my spare time. I have now met Tan, who is a wonderful person who has decided to hire me on the team (or to make a team :P). My role here is to make sure clients are pleased with our product and all other support issues. UI design for future and current apps. Marketing and networking solutions.

Well there I am in a nutshell. I hope you all love this product and we can't wait to further make it a more useful piece of software, as well as provide you all with new and innovating things as well.

-Corbin

Mirrodin Besieged

01/31/2011

We have been hard at work behind the scenes to roll out the Besieged cards and several new features on the iPhone and Mac app. If there are no new hiccups, we should be getting the price feeds from tcgplayer.com and will then release the new version of the app to Apple today. This means you should have Besieged in Decked Builder no later than next week.

In the meanwhile, enjoy the screenshot below, showing the new Besieged cards and a new alphabetical sorting feature (yes, we've been listening!)

Apple has kindly expedited the release of the bug fix to the save issue, so it's safe to patch your Mac version of Decked Builder now.

And to those playing at this weekend's Mirrodin Beseiged pre-release, good luck and all the best!

Mac version 1.2

01/27/2011

A big boo boo for Mac version 1.2. I had released it to fix a major bug in the search display, which was crashing the app for some users. However, in rushing out the fix, I had accidentally introduced a bug into the Save feature. Please do not update to v1.2 until v1.2.1 has been released.

I have already submitted the patch to Apple with a note to expedite the review, so hopefully you will get it soon. Sorry for any inconvenience, and I'll be stepping up the quality controls in the future. If anyone wants a part time job doing software testing for Decked Builder, just drop me an email.

Hi all,

Here is a layout of my development plans for the next two months. In January, I plan to release an update to the iPhone and Mac version that will provide full HD card art for most of the existing sets. This will be released simultaneously with the iPad version of the app which is currently finishing up beta testing.

In Febrauary, Mirrodin Besieged is being released, so I'll try my best to update the database as soon as it's available (release date is Feb 4th 2011). Also, I'll be hard at work adding support for managing your card collections on the Mac version, which is my number 1 priority on that platform.

If you have any requests, feel free to email them to me at deckedbuilder@gmail.com. Looking forward to your emails.

For those who want more information regarding my earlier post about copying deck files to or from the iPhone version of Decked Builder using iTunes while connected via USB, please check out this informative article from Apple:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4094

The article is for the iPad, but it is equally applicable to all iOS devices, including the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Decked Builder for the Mac is now also available on the Apple app store. It also has a Lite verson for you to try out. Give it a shot!

For those with both versions, you can exchange decks easily via two methods:

1) Email

2) Copy decks to/from the iPhone version from iTunes when your device is connected via USB (look for Decked Builder under the apps section of your device).

Note: Due to popular demand, the Mac version is now available at just US$5.99. For those who purchased the Mac version at the initial higher price, please drop me an email at deckedbuilder@gmail.com and I will try to make it up to.
