Decked Builder - Mobile Apps for MTG

Hi all,

It has been a long journey, but we are happy to announce that we have just released Decked Builder for the Android. It currently contains almost all of the functionality of the iOS versions of Decked Builder except for Collections. We have also tried to port most of the same user interface conventions from the iPhone to the Android, except where it doesn't make sense (e.g. Androids have a back button).

Full details can be found on our new Android page here:

http://www.deckedbuilder.com/android.html

Check out the release screenshots below, and please tell all your Android friends that they can now enjoy building decks with Decked Builder on the go, just like you, and even exchange decks with you via email.

And for a limited time only, we are having a special promotional price, so tell them to grab it early while they can! :)

Hi all,

Worked on a new icon over the weekend based on a concept drawing submitted by one of our very talented users -- Bob aka Snowczar. His idea of using the cards as a wheel is brilliant, and we tried to keep a "sketchy" look to the icon, as we liked the concept of using Decked Builder as a tool to quickly sketch/create deck ideas.

We've enclosed the large-scale icon, as well as what you would see when it is shrunk to a smaller size on your device, below. Do let us know what you think of this new idea.

And a big thank you to Bob!

Hi all,

We have just released a bug fix release to Apple for Decked Builder 2.8.1 for the iPhone. This resolves the recurring question bug when you create a new deck.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and suggest that you create a new deck by re-saving an old one as a workaround in the meantime. Alternatively, you could use our mtgo-stats integration (from the News tab) to use an existing, tournament worthy deck as a base.

I wanted to take a moment to blog about something that I have been working on this morning. Namely, the Decked Builder Website.

Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon developing a media kit for Decked Drafter so that we can increase our marketability and extend our media coverage. During that process, I noted that there was a lot of dust on the site and decided to spend today dusting and renovating the site. Times change and so do concepts and policies. So I wanted to ensure that what we are offering and delivering today is what the website reflects today.

Because of this, I have combed every page on the website and have improved and updated all of them. Most important was the 'Our Partners' page, where I updated CardShark's listing and added a new partner, adventuresON.com. (Welcome to the team!)

If you wouldn't mind, please take a look around the site and let me know if everything looks clear to you; because if it is not clear to you, reader/customer, then I need to make sure that it gets corrected.

Thanks for your continued support.

Oh, and be prepared for an announcement next week! ;)

Hi all,

We have just added HD art for Avacyn Restored. Enjoy, and have a great weekend!

Apple just approved the in-app purchase.

Happy Drafting!

Hi all,

Avacyn Restored is nearly available for Decked Drafter. We have received the write-ups and ratings from Marlon Egolf and Timothy Landale, and are doing the final editorial rounds now. We are also waiting for Apple to approve the in-app purchase as well (yes, even in-app purchases need to be approved!).

Here are two sample card write-ups below, one from Marlon and the other from Tim.

Borderland Ranger
Rating: 74
Timothy Landale's notes: Almost all cards that replace themselves are playable in limited. Searching for a basic land lets you fix your mana, and you get a 2/2 creature out of the deal. This card should be taken early and often. Taking them early will also allow you to splash much easier later on.

Driver of the Dead
Rating: 56
Marlon Egolf's notes: Driver is a solid, if unspectacular way to get a bit of mid-game value. Three power for four mana is fine, and he shouldn’t have a problem trading in combat. Once that happens, you get one of your smaller guys back, assuming you were able to trade one off beforehand. If you are very low on two drops then Driver loses a lot of his appeal, but otherwise he should be fine.

Hi all,

We have identified the issue with the Mac edition crashing -- it was due to the new card pricing code we put it to handle the larger number of stores that are coming online. Basically, if your Mac loses it's Internet connection, the new card pricing code will cause the app to crash (we had inadvertently set the retry timer to 0).

We have already submitted a patch to Apple to fix this bug. We apologize for the issue, and hope the patch gets released soon. In the meanwhile, to avoid any issues, you might want to make sure your Internet connection is up while using the Mac edition.

Hi all,

We would love to hear your opinions about the old and new Decked Builder icons. I have posted both of them below in their 512x512 size glory. We had to change the old icon due to Wizards coming down on us for trademark use of their five color wheel.

Do you prefer the old icon to the new one? If you don't like the new icon, why and how would you improve it?

Hi all,

We hope to have a patch available on Monday to fix the stats crashing issue. This was due to some last minute, untested changes for removing the mana symbols functionality.

However, it will be reborn in a new feature that would help you build your buylists even faster. A picture tells a thousand words, so check out the screenshot below!
