Decked Builder - Mobile Apps for MTG

Hey Guys, its time for an update on the iPhone/iPad for Decked Builder. The update will be version 2.9 and will be available (undertone) as soon as Apple approves it (end undertone) very soon! Until then, here are a few of the upcoming patch features:
  • Added MagicCardMarket.eu as a pricing provider. European players, rejoice!
  • Added in-app database update mechanism accessible from the Settings page.
  • You can now search for cards by the color of mana that they produce.
  • If a set or collection is selected, the search reset button will clear all other settings except those. Keep tapping reset to clear those settings.
  • The Buylist / Deck tab header has changed slightly.
  • Added a way to quickly access Decked Builder support from the Settings page.
  • Updated App Icon.

Stay tuned for more updates!

Please don't forget about the newsletter and to vote on our contest. Find more information on these here.

Planechase 2012
Hey Guys, I have good news for the Android Decked Builder fans. We have pushed through the release of version 1.0.2, which contains the cards found in Planechase 2012.

Planechase 2012 contains 21 brand new Magic cards and 32 new planes and 8 new phenomena that are themed toward the Planar Format. If you are not familiar with the Planar Format or Planechase 2012 (or Planechase for that matter), MTG Salvation has a very nice wiki site that can tell you pretty much anything that you would ever like to know about the product.

If you would like to read the official Daily MTG release about Planechase 2012, just click HERE.

In addition to the Planechase 2012 cards being included in this release, the patch also includes several bug fixes that prevent various crashes.

If you find any bugs, always be sure to contact us so that we can get it fixed for the next release. Please send your bug reports to  support@deckedbuilder.com

Decked Builder Newsletter Sign-up Form
We are going to be taking the next step in promoting Decked Studios' apps to our MTG audience by doing something that has been asked of us repeatedly: Let you know what we are working on and when it should be ready!

We have created a Decked Studios Newsletter that we will be releasing in July that will be full of the information that you are looking for from our team. What we are missing is an email address in which to send the info. In the image above, you will see a snap shot of the 'Newsletter Subscription' form that can be found on practically any page on this site. Please know that your personal information will NEVER be sold, shared, compromised, distributed... I can't think of any other terms to include here.

In addition to the Newsletter, I have been trying to think of a couple of cool contests that we can have some fun with. The problem that I keep coming back to is that I don't really know you all that well yet. So let's fix that problem! I have set up a poll below that will let you speak up and let me know what kind of contest you like to participate in.

Whichever type of contest type wins, I will have a contest ready to go for you very shortly afterward.

Be sure to Tweet about this blog and help spread the word about Decked Builder. Hopefully we can get a good number of people interested in the contest. The more people interested, the more likely it is that I can find a prize for the winners!

Hi all,

For those looking for an app to track life, poison counters and anything else, I would highly recommend Scorekeeper XL. You can even use it for apps other than Magic. It's a really cool little app with really neat animations, and it's free for a limited time only. Grab it now!

Disclaimer: I'm not affiliated with the app in any way, but I just thought I'd pass on the good news.

Introducing MagicCardMarket
When I first joined Decked Studios, one of my first goals was to find a way to get into the overseas market. I am sure that you are well aware that majority of the biggest MTG vendors on the net are located in the United States. That does not mean that we should only be focused there.

We are happy to announce that we have broadened our network into Europe and that begins with a partnership with MagicCardMarket.eu. MagicCardMarket (or MKM for short) is a peer to peer sales site, allowing the users to act as buyers and sellers, similar to eBay.

Below you will find a short description of MKM. They were nice enough to write for us to place on the 'Our Partners' page, but I wanted to share it with you here so that you don't miss it.

Price Your Entire Deck in Euros via MKM.
"Magiccardmarket, or MKM in short, is Europe's biggest peer-to-peer marketplace for Magic cards. With over 70.000 users in 20 countries and a total of over 5.000.000 cards, you won't find a bigger offer anywhere else. Since the beginning in 2007, MKM has advanced to the inofficial price reference for Magic cards in Europe.

Let's say MKM is like eBay, but all functions and services are customized to serve TCG players, traders and collectors. Our key features include:

Buyers:
  • Buying at MKM is completely FREE of charges.
  • Buy at fixed price only: You know what you pay.
  • All shipping costs are fixed by the system: No shipping rip-off anymore!
  • Transparent interface for easy, effective price comparison
  • Online money account: Only one payment needed, no matter from how many sellers you buy.
  • Highest security with our third-party payment system: We keep your money safe until you've received what you pay for.
  • With sellers from over 20 countries, get the best prices all over Europe.

Sellers:
  • Selling at fixed price only. No risk to sell cards too cheap.
  • No listing fees. You only pay when you really sell a card.
  • No time limit. You cards stay listed until they sell.
  • Only a very fair 5% sales commission.
  • Easy and fast selling interface. Our database contains every Magic card ever printed, so listing a card only takes 4 clicks.
  • Virtual user account: All payments are processed through our system. No need to monitor bank and/or PayPal accounts. Cashing-out your money is free of charge.
  • MKM insurance for sellers: If an order gets lost on the way, we'll refund you!
  • 70.000 users in over 20 countries: You won't find more potential buyers anywhere.
Check out Europe's No.1 marktplace now: www.magiccardmarket.eu. "

With that, I present our European fans with an opportunity to buy and sell cards. The best part is that you can buy directly through Decked Builder!

Hi all,

After nearly 18 days, the small Mac patch is finally "In Review" (previously Waiting for Review). It shouldn't be too long now....

Hi all,

A small quality of life improvement is coming in the next patch in the form of an enhanced reset button. We generally build decks for specific formats, e.g. Standard or Extended, but currently, every time we tap the Reset button, it will also clear the Set settings that you have specified. As such, every time we hit the Reset button, if we want to keep searching within Standard, we have to keep selecting Set, and then Standard again.

In patch 2.9, tapping Reset if you have a Set selected will not clear the set, allowing you to keep searching within the selected Set. To clear the Set, just tap the Reset button again.

We hope you will find this new feature as useful as we have! And it's less confusing in practice than it is in the description above (really). :)

Hi all,

We are currently preparing patch 2.9 for release, and we are focusing on clearing some of the searching features that we have received (thanks for all the feedback!). One of the bigger features that we have been working on is allowing you to search for cards by the color of mana it produces -- great for quickly finding the lands that you will need to finish up your buy list or deck.

You can only see on the picture the inclusion of Only for card color searches -- so searching for "Red and Green Only" will exclude all cards that are of any other colors (i.e. red and blue cards etc).

A picture tells a thousand words -- so check it out below!

Hi all,

This release should (hopefully) fix the issues that several users has been having with the Mac edition crashing. We have zeroed in on some networking related issues with the new pricing code -- although interestingly, we run the exact same code on the iPhone and iPad editions of the app.

A special thank you go out to Timothy Cormack, Brian Cwikla and David Shallah for submitting crash reports that helped us identify the issue.
