Decked Builder - Mobile Apps for MTG

Hi all,

Some bad news -- Apple has just rejected patch 2.2.1 which was supposed to fix the Collections crashing bug. The bug is caused whenever the collections search returns zero cards, normally when you type a card name (avoid using the card name lookup for now in collections).

The cause for Apple's rejection? To be honest, I am not sure what it means, but I am very sure Decked Builder does not write to any file locations named '/Uie'. I have appealed the rejection, but will go ahead and release version 2.3 if 2.2.1 is not released by tomorrow.

Apple certainly seems to be paying more attention to App Store app quality these days!

The change list for 2.3 is similar to the iPhone/iPad releases:

- Added Innistrad card set
- Added special support for flipping Innistrad transform cards
- Added support for Legacy and EDH format when searching and filtering
- You can now toggle between viewing only unique cards or all cards from all card sets when browsing search results

Hi all,

We are happy to announce that we have released Decked Builder 1.11 to Apple with the following key changes:

- Added Innistrad card set
- Added special support for flipping Innistrad transform cards
- Added support for Legacy and EDH format when searching and filtering
- You can now toggle between viewing only unique cards or all cards from all card sets when browsing search results

While it's a short change list, there were quite a few major modifications to the card database to support them. You can check out some of the new screenshots below showing off the new unique cards filter as well as a way to flip Innistrad cards.

About transform cards

We have had to rework several mechanics to support transform cards. When viewing a transform card, it will display a moon or sun icon to allow you to flip it over to the other side. In addition, for all purposes, only the day side of the card will be used. So for example, when adding a card with on the night side to your deck, only the day side card will be added. The deck count will only show the day side card and so on.

Hi all,

We are currently working on rolling out Innistrad support on all our apps (Decked Builder and Drafter). However, with the new transform card mechanic, the rollout will be slightly delayed as we will probably need to program special support for it. In addition, the newness of the set means that Marlon wants a bit more time to tweak the card ratings and descriptions for Decked Drafter as well.

As a special preview, we have added Marlon's current writeup on Angel of Flight Alabaster below. Enjoy!

Angel of Flight Alabaster, rating 91
A five-mana 4/4 flyer is often first pick material regardless, so having a very relevant ability, not to mention a very splashable mana cost, makes this Angel a very powerful card.  There are a large number of spirit creatures in Innistrad, and not very many common removal spells that can deal with a four toughness creature. Big flyers and continuing card advantage are two surefire ways to win limited games, so draft this creature very highly.

Hi all,

We have just released Decked Builder Mac Edition 2.2.1 to Apple with several bug fixes for resizing issues, especially with the help button on the test deck feature.

A special thanks to James Moore for being the first to report it!
We have also fixed a crashing bug when the collection search results view becomes empty.

If you do find any other issues, please email them to support@deckedbuilder.com

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Hi all,

We have just released Mac edition 2.2 to Apple -- adding Modern support, deck filtering, search paging and a list of other features such as easier input of collections, preliminary support for MTGOtraders.com prices etc.

The full change list:
- When searching by format (i.e. Standard, Modern or Extended), the search will now list all cards that are legal in the format regardless of expansion (e.g. 8th Edition Giant Growth is considered Standard legal).
- You can now search for Modern cards.
- Added a way to filter cards when viewing a deck -- this will allow you to search for cards within a deck, and to determine if a deck is legal for a particular format.
- You can now page through a search listing to see all the search results.
- Added a turn counter when testing decks. Clicking the turn counter will increment the turn and draw a card.
- Added preliminary support for MTGOTraders.com as a pricing source for digital card prices.
- When scrolling through the collection view, the list view on the side is synched with the main collections view.
- You can now type a number to set the quantity for a collection.
- Lo, mid and high prices are now exported from the collection CSV.
- The search drawer is now built into the deck window.
- You can now search the active collection from the deck window.
- Added a menu item to flush the price cache in the File menu.
- Added a text file export to export decks to MTGO

Check out the screenshot illustrating the new "filter by text" feature to figure out how many goblins you have in your goblin deck:

Hi all,

After much investigation, we have managed to pinpoint the problem with the iPad Stats screen -- for some unknown reason, the app that was published was missing a NIB file when submitted to Apple, although it worked perfectly fine on our test systems. This is something that we have never experienced before.

We have already submitted patch 1.10.2 to Apple to rectify this issue.

Sorry for the inconvenience, we hope to get this resolved soon.

Hi all,

Apple has kindly turned around the bug fix for the 1.10 patch very quickly for the iPhone. It is now available on the App Store, so update to enjoy support for Modern, deck filtering and search paging!
