Hi all,
This is the tentative feature list for the next release of Decked Builder. Most of these features were actually built for the Mac version which is now waiting for Apple's approval, and are now being ported back to the iPhone version.
- Search card improvements (search by "And" mana type, and standard/extended card sets)
- Import Apprentice decks over email
- Simple deck statistics
I'm also planning to add some preliminary Retina Display support for version 1.4 (one of our most requested feature), with version 1.5 dedicated to fully supporting the iPhone 4 Retina Display. The biggest issue with Retina Display support is the size of the card art required (over 200k per card), which is going to require lots of bandwidth. I'm still mulling over how to properly support this.
Keep the feedback coming in, and if there's anything you want to see in version 1.4, just send them to deckedbuilder@gmail.com. All comments welcome!
Thanks for all who sent in your feedback! Keep them coming -- help make Decked Builder the best deck building app on the Mac!
Based on user requests, I've released a second open beta for the Mac app:
- Expanded the card database to include Magic 2011, Zendikar Block, Shards of Alara Block and Shadowmoor Block.
- Numerous bug fixes
Visit us at http://deckedbuilder.weebly.com/mac.html to download and test the Mac app.
The final app should be submitted to the Apple App store soon, then development will resume on v1.4 of the iPhone app.
Thanks to all those who signed up for the Mac beta test for Decked Builder. I've posted some screenshots for those who are curious, and the open beta file at

Give it a shot and let me know what you think!
I've recently submitted version 1.3 to apple for approval, so it should be out in about a week or so. Some of the new features include:
- Deck notes can now be added.
- Preliminary card pricing feature, courtesy of TCGplayer.com
- Card art is now automatically downloaded as required
- Card art can now be deleted on the settings page
- Decks are now sorted by last modified date
- When emailing decks, an Apprentice .dec file is automatically attached
I'm especially happy with the automatic card art download feature. It took several weeks of coding to weed out all the bugs with multi threading. A special thanks to David Foster for helping to beta test the new release.
Most of the features were submitted by users of the app. Keep those suggestions coming to deckedbuilder@gmail.com. Thank you all for the support!
For those who are wondering on the future of Decked Builder, here are my current plans on upcoming releases:
v1.3 major features:
Automatically download card art in the background (download card art buttons will be removed)
Preliminary display of card prices, courtesy of magic.tcgplayer.com
Tweaks to Deck UI: ability to add notes to decks, display of sideboard count at the top
v1.4:
Deck statistics (mana curve, colored symbol count)
Email decks in Apprentice format
Import decks in Apprentice format via email.
As usual, if you want to add anything to the above list, just email me at deckedbuilder@gmail.com. For those who have sent emails, thank you all for the support, encouragement and feedback!
