Decked Builder - Mobile Apps for MTG

Hi all,

We have just released versions 1.8.2 for the iPad, and versions 2.1.2 for the Mac to Apple. Below are the changes mades:

- Added Magic 2012 card set, and HD card art to Commander.

- Added purchase deck and purchase missing cards button when pricing a deck.

- Fix for Fire//Ice and Nezumi Graverobber in Commander.

- Change deck encoding to UTF-8 to allow non-ASCII characters in deck notes.

- Fix for flip cards in Kamigawa block (special thanks to Ken Austin for reporting this).

- Fix for playing Tribal Instants and Sorceries when testing a deck (special thanks to Devinder for reporting this).

Hope your prerelease games went well!

Apple generally takes between 3-10 days to release a patch (yes, that's a big variance)!

Any chance of including the following in an upcoming patch?

- Chronicles (and other missing sets/promos - see magiccards.info)
- card variants (including collector's number)
- +/- counter for foils on each card
- images instead of circles for mana (even if they're just images of circles in the project folder that can be swapped out locally)?

This is an excellent app for constructing decks and still very good for managing a collection, but as a collection manager it's currently incomplete.

Thanks!

How about M12 on decked drafter? Couldn't wait for test on it.

Plus one on the foils option in the collection manager.

Also any chance we can get an add box-set to collection option so I can add each of the commander sets to my collection rather than add the cards individually. Stuff like the duel and intro decks as well where the cards are set would make life easier.

Thanks.

Great app on all iiphone/ipad/osx. When will the collection feature come to the iPad?! Also it would be nice to be able to search in the collection ONLY.

Hi all,

Thanks for writing in with all the questions. Let me try to answer them all in this reply.

Durentis:

- We certainly have Chronicles cards in the app right now -- you might want to upgrade to the latest version from the App Store.

- About the foils, I have posted an additional FAQ question for Collections at http://www.deckedbuilder.com/faq.html, do check it out!

- About the mana symbols, they were swapped out due to legal issues

Alter:

I will make a separate post about M12 on Drafter, thanks for writing in about it.

Mike:

- The add box-set is a nice idea, let me see if I can gather more information about the various box set contents

Gerard:

- Real soon now, we are waiting for iOS 5 and iCloud support to be released, so as to enable easy synchronization of Collections data between the Mac and the iOS devices.

- And you can certainly search in the collection only -- do you mean for deck building? Just ensure that you have a collection window open as well.

Sent a lengthy support email, but in short:

- The Mac App Store update process seems to be broken (I had to Trash/Re-install) because there were never any updates visible.

- I mentioned a workaround for the mana symbol legal issues, that I'd like to see implemented if you would, please.

- This isn't just a deck builder, despite that being your goal. Even the underlying philosophy is built on there being a fully functional collection manager beneath the deck builder. There's no need to consider making a collection manager in the future, you already have one. It's just missing a few nit-picky things that will make the app practically flawless.

It's taking an awfully long time to get this update. Any word from Apple about its progress? I've got several deck ideas to toy with using some of the non-reprint M12 stuff.

BTW, great app. I don't know how I managed so long without it.

I was going to mention the 'bugged' Chronicles card art but a quick look at Gatherer shows them with black borders too. Very sloppy on Wizards' part, imo. :(

Anyway, DB doesn't seem to download the HD card art from magiccards.info (at least for Chronicles), which has the proper white borders.. do you get them from elsewhere and/or have to add links for them yet?

thanks for the answer! Great, collection syncing between devices! That's really cool news.
Yes a search in collection only option would be very handy, that way you can find cards THAT YOU ALREADY OWN with (for example) the word Elf or Poison in your collection. This can help to constuct or improve decks.

Durentis:

I don't believe I received the support email you mention, maybe you could resend it?

I'll certainly look into adding HD art for Chronicles.

Ewplayer3:

Both the Mac and iPhone edition of the app has been released -- only the iPad edition is still waiting for Apple's approval.

Hrm.. I sent it via your contact form so that's broken if you didn't get it.

Resent via gmail to support@deckedbuilder.com.

(This is why I always save a local copy of big emails/posts.. lol)

Sorry for the confusion, only just found out that searching in the collection only is already possible by specifying the Collection search criterum. Completely missed that option, glad it's there, excellent!!
